Moby - After
Opps, Moby continue to score me a little bit this time, haha. This is actually quite typical Moby but I proceed to like it anyway. Weird as usual but with a slightly disturbing female vocal this time. A lovely yet thought provoking video, is that about Japan’s nuclear plants crisis?

Beth Orton - Stars All Seem To Weep (1999)
When I’m so f*cking sad, sometimes I think of this very neat sad song. I wish I can sleep underneath the stars, like I did when I was a child.

Moby - The Right Thing
Moby feat. Inyang Bassey - The Right Thing
Slightly weird, strange, sad, downtempo and elegant, there seems not much breakthrough of Moby’s music, but he ratains his old magic and still captivating here.

Darren Hayes - Talk Talk Talk
I still remember the time I bought that Savage Garden single, talk about how time flies by… Now Darren returns with this wonderful brand new single, actually it’s nothing too special, but then I can totally feel his emotion, his passion here, that’s enough for me to enjoy this song tremendously!! Nice, nice…

Björk - Crystalline
Oh yeah, she’s back! This gets me inspired and wanna get in touch with her mind. This is pretty and I’m a little too ecstatic over that ending, it’s actually very marvelous…!! :D

James Blake - Lindisfarne/ Unluck
James Blake - Lindisfarne*/ Unluck
Oh yeah, double A side, the one problem I have with his record is that it’s a little bit too repetitive for me, sometimes. I mean I don’t mind all the challenges he set up for his listeners, it’s just when you go to the center, you’re greeted with all these small, pretty but repetitive vocals. For times, I think I don’t mind to be brainwashed by them since they are pretty sweet and em, pretty, but other times, I still have doubts. But generally this is still an challenging but enjoyable album. Lindisfarne on the album is an two parts affair, this single is a combined edit of the two. It’s mild, it’s warm, but maybe a little bit nothingness-like for me, pardon for my cheesiness. Unluck on the other hand is an instant like though, yeah catchy enough for me, lol. I think “dubstep” is a little bit debatable, let’s just say it’s minimalist electronica to a new height.
* I have to warn you about the video for Lindisfarne, if you’re ok for some unpleasant, even disgusting visuals, then proceed…

Special/ Revisited: Comfort Tunes
If your heart and soul ever need comforting, I think these tunes suit the category.
Tori Amos - A Sorta Fairy Tale (2002)
I love Tori. She may have lost her fire, but I enjoy this calm Tori too. She’s just being herself, telling how she feels, whether it’s angry or pleasant. I have to say I prefer the album version though, the brilliance is extended.

He’s quiry, I like that. This is mind soothing, lovely. This, however, comes as quite tamed, but I’m rather ok with it. :)

This comes from his 1999 mega album “Play”, so many wonderful things there. And this one is certainly comforting, with the use of some wonderful samples. It’s a little sad though, but I adore it, for some reason, this little song comes into my head from time to time. For the videos, I have to say I prefer the animated one, I like that slightly sad little fellow.

Revisited: M.I.A. - Jimmy
Revisited: M.I.A. - Jimmy (2007)
Ok, let the celebration and exotic continues. Maybe people like her provocative side, to be honest, I like her fun, relaxed side which is fully reflected in this song. It’s such a strong, catchy, fun, exotic disco number I think many people will be immediately attracted to and move/ dance along.

Jamie Woon - Night Air
This song has grown so much on me! I love that it’s so atmospheric and beautiful. Just like the song title, yes, it’s dark, but it’s breezy, gives out a weirdly pleasant feeling, his singing voice doesn’t even suggest that, but it has this feel. This is very elegantly done.
