Video: Ellie Goulding - Lights
Owl deer, not anything big, but I love this to bits, they should release this song much sooner though, tbh.

Jamie Woon - Night Air
Jamie Woon - Night Air
This song has grown so much on me! I love that it’s so atmospheric and beautiful. Just like the song title, yes, it’s dark, but it’s breezy, gives out a weirdly pleasant feeling, his singing voice doesn’t even suggest that, but it has this feel. This is very elegantly done.

Mark Salling - Higher Power
Mark Salling - Higher Power
Power. ^_^ Somehow, his cockiness is turned into something wonderful in this song and thus injecting powerful (:P) personal flavor into a song which, without, is just another song based on “I Will Survive” (?), and could be boring. I think I really like his voice. So I think individual characteristics and personality are very important in music making,...

Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers
Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers
I’ve been enjoying “Get Some” quite a lot, and this follow up single get the same love from me if not more. I thought they were just some average indie songs, but I ended up loving them more than expected. I guess it’s because they are well crafted, nicely done and are real growers.

James Blake - Limit to Your Love (Feist)
The original is great, and what James basically does is to deepen it more. While I don’t necessary like music that are “deep”, I love this cover. What stands out for me the most is his use of his voice, which is wonderful, plus it’s naturally full of character, I can really feel his emotion here. INDEED AMAZING. ^^ genre: minimal,...

Revisited: Hot Chip - Ready for the Floor
Hot Chip - Ready for the Floor (2008)
This is fun, poppy, chart-attacker, yet sophisticate-ness retained. I dig their 2008 album “Made in the Dark” quite a bit, and frankly speaking, this lead single is the most radio friendly one, and I love it the most, call me cheesy~ <3

Kerli - Army of Love
Kerli - Army of Love
I’ve liked her “Tea Party” before. Her gothy dance pop image and music is, em, quite interesting, and something to be lured… for a while, lol. And it seems she continues this scary-cute style in this new single and video. The whole song is catchy with some very infectious lines. I seem can’t get enough of it at the moment, I don’t know how...

Kimberly Cole - Smack You
Kimberly Cole - Smack You
Oh dear, how do you sing a song that says you wanna “smack a b*tch” without sounding like one? Does Kimberly succeed in this manner in this song? You decide… Anyway she sounds calm here for me but is definitely in for some fierce cat-fights!! I do quite like the song, that “smack you” is powerful! But, I don’t endorse the use of...

Ameriie - Outside Your Body
“1 Thing” was such a stylish mega smash for me, Ameriie formerly known as Amerie is back with this exciting new music! I love how everything is handled with a light, soft manner yet it doesn’t hold back it’s fierceness! Fun, cute and exciting! Highly recommeded…

– Lyrics: Paolo Nutini - Candy
I was perched outside in the pouring rain
Trying to make myself a-sail
Then I'll float to you my darlin'
With the evening on my tail
Although not the most honest means of travel
It gets me there nonetheless
I'm a heartless man at worst, babe
and a helpless one at...

Special: MNMW's Top Music of the Year 2010
Happy new year! And yes, it’s about time to have a summary of the past year and present my top music of the year 2010:
Single of the year: Robyn - Dancing on My Own She’s making electropop like no other, it’s edgy yet with enough sweetness and catchiness to appeal the mass, it’s top-notch production, and “appropriate” enough to be a brilliant single. Robyn...
